Tribes2Wiki:Community Portal
From Tribes2Wiki
Tribes 2 has an extremely fractured community, and it always has since it first started. However, throughout the game's life, there was always one community that was widely accepted to be the main community. The others are all minor off-shoots that exist on the side.

[edit] Official Tribes communities
As mentioned above, these are the communities that had the bulk of the Tribes 2 competitive player base, and are therefore the primary communities in the game.
- Classic CTF and Base Arena: TWL Tribes 2 Forum
- General T1, T2, T:V: TribalWar
[edit] IRC
Tribes 2 used to have its own in-game IRC that could only be reached by loading up Tribes 2, but after a while, almost every active player decided to use the much more convenient irc.dynamix.com IRC server. This server is what was used for Tribes 1 (and later, Tribes: Vengeance). However, this server eventually was taken down, and irc.tribalwar.com was put up to give the former denizens of Dynamix IRC a place to hang out. However, for unknown reasons, many Tribes players conduct their Tribes-related chatting in channels on other IRC servers.
- Last Gasp and general Classic CTF: #lastgasp @ irc.tribalwar.com
- TribalWar main channel: #tribalwar @ irc.tribalwar.com
- TribesNext.com Tribes 2 Revival: #Tribes @ irc.Arloria.net
[edit] Mod communities
Tribes 2 is host to many interesting mods, and almost all of them evolved to have their own communities.
- Shifter Mod: Shifter Mod
- Construction: The-Construct
- War2003 Mod: Rumble on the Web
- Version2 Pubs: v2Rebellion
- Version2 'Competition': OSL T2 Forum

[edit] Misc communities
Other communities evolved based around various subjects including geography, mapping interests, scripting interests, etc.

- Tribes 2 Mapping: TribalOutpost (originally Tribes2Maps.com)
